On Saturday we went out to my parents' house for a little "Pre-Birthday" Party. My sister from out of town was visiting and asked if we wanted to bring Maria over to visit. Since Christina (my sister) won't be up from Southern Illinois for Maria's party on the 29th we decided to do a Pre-Birthday party. We had a nice time visiting. Maria got to open some presents, and after dinner, eat some cake!
My sister has a Golden Retriever named Spencer. She brought him up for the weekend with her. Spencer is the sweetest dog. He loved Maria, and well, Maria loved him! As we know Maria does have an obsession with dogs, or "Ba" as she calls them. She really was in heaven at my parents house. They have 3 dogs of their own, plus Spencer visiting, equals 4 large dogs in one house! She loved to stare out the kitchen door watching the dogs play outside.
Maria with her cake.She LOVED squishing it around in her fingers. It took her awhile to actually take a bite. She played with it quite a bit before eating it. Once she did start eating it, well she went to town! She was nothing but smiles the entire time she was sitting in her chair with her cake. We all got a ton of adorable pictures.
Look at that smile! She sure did enjoy her cake. She really didn't get too messy! I actually only had to change her pants. Her shirt stayed really clean. That's not too bad! We'll see how she does on Saturday with her cake at her big party.
Maria did not want her picture taken, but we tried anyway. Here is Maria and I with Aunt Christina. It was nice for Chris to get to spend some quality time with Ri. I know she feels bad that she doesn't get a lot of time with her.
